Memorial Day Weekend Is A Huge Weekend For Autoracing.

On a day that I should be up to the Thunder Road Speedbowl, I am home sick.  Murphy’s law bit me big time this weekend. I had been planning for months to be up there for the whole weekend, but as luck would have it, I woke up yesterday, Saturday, with a full blown head and chest cold. I’m not feeling much better today and will stay home and catch all of the racing that’s on TV.

F1

It’s going on 8am est and the Turkish GP is about to start. F1 is a lot different than most racing series. The racecars are basically land jets that cost millions of dollars to research and construct. F1 takes the cake for the most expensive form of autoracing. The whole strategy of F1 is different than the racing we are used to here in the USA. Over here in the USA, we stress parity and that every car should have a chance. It never quite works out as planned, because the cream always rises to the top. In F1, build a legal car, and if it whoops everyone’s butt, great! F1 allows alot more in the way of development freedom, which allows those engineers to shine.

The Indianapolis 500

Around noon, est, The Indy 500 will begin at the Indianapolis Speedway. I don’t follow the Indy cars much and haven’t seen an Indy 500 in the past 3 years. Danica Patrick is the only driver I really know of out there. It should be fun getting reacquainted with Indy Car racing.

NASCAR’s Coca-Cola 600

At 5:30 pm est, coverage begins for NASCAR’s Coca-Cola 600. This is a race I never miss on TV. This is one of the most exciting NASCAR races of the year. Charlotte Motor Speedway is 1.5 miles of speed. The pole sitter was just below 190 mph. Forty-three racecars will race for 600 miles which takes 400 laps to complete. What’s great about this race, is they begin in the daylight and race into the night. NASCAR looks awesome under the lights.

I am disappointed that I am going to miss the ACT Tour Race at Thunder Road, but I plan on making the most of it with a ton of televised autoracing today. I hope you all have a fantastic Memorial Day.

Getting Started : The Plan

So you want to create and earn a living via the internet. I can understand that. The job market sure isn’t the greatest or the most secure place to find work these days, and in my opinion, things aren’t going to get better for a long time.  Opportunity can be found all over the internet though. There are thousands upon thousands of home businesses that you can start yourself, or team up with for mutual profit. Scams do abound, but once you know what to look for, they are pretty easy to spot.

Today, we are not going to talk about finding your dream home business. We are going to talk about Getting Started. You are going to learn how to lay a rock solid foundation from which you will be able to build the Personal Online Business of your dreams, no matter what that may be.

So what could be so important that I would consider it to be the foundation that everything else is built upon?

Social Media

Social Media or Social Networking sites give you places to meet millions of like minded people. Facebook alone has over 200 million users worldwide. Other great Social Media sites include Twitter, Digg, StumbleUpon, and YouTube. To get started, create an account at each of these Social Networking sites. Try to use the same Username at each site. This makes it a lot easier for your followers to get to know you. I know it’s not always possible but it is something to try for.

Next, you need a blog. Your blog is your central hub, the place where you send all of your Social Networking contacts to get more information about you. From your blog, you can send your readers and contacts anywhere you want. It is best to put a Web Capture Form on your blog to catch the names and email addresses of your followers that are passing through. Once they are on your list, you then can market anything you want to them.

Setting up your blog and your Social Networking accounts may take a couple of days. Once you are setup, it’s all about connecting with people and making friends. The people that really resonate with what you are doing and what you are talking about will head to your blog for more information.

At this point, you may not have a primary business yet. That is ok. Take your time and find the right one for you. You may consider starting off with promoting Affiliate Products to get some income streaming in from the beginning. We will talk more about being an Affiliate and finding your dream business in my next post. Until then, get your blog and your Social Network up and running and start making some new friends. Talk soon.
